Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a water jet and how does it work?
A water jet uses a highly pressurized supersonic stream of water, often mixed with an abrasive material like garnet, to precisely cut through materials. It uses no heat, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
What type of materials can you cut with a water jet?
The water jet can cut virtually any material, including metals, stone, glass, ceramics, and composites. For softer materials, like some plastics, a water-only jet is used.
Is water jet cutting environmentally friendly?
Yes. Scrap materials are collected and recycled, and the garnet abrasive is a natural crystal that can be reused for other purposes. The water is also recycled.
What kinds of projects do you create?
We offer a wide range of projects, from custom furniture and cabinetry to intricate artistic pieces, architectural accents, signs, and prototyping.
Can you create a design from a sketch or an idea?
Yes. We prefer receiving CAD files, but we can also work from other files, sketches, or drawings. A designer on our team can help you finalize your concept.
What is the maximum material size you can handle?
Our waterjet and CNC router will both accommodate a work piece that is 5 feet by 10 feet.
